2026 GUIDED ART WALKS IN KERKRADE
Where Darkness Brings Us Together – A guided art walk through Kerkrade with artist Diana Ramaekers
What happens when we stop looking at a city and start truly experiencing it?
During ‘Where Darkness Brings Us Together’, artist Diana Ramaekers guides visitors on a unique evening walk through Kerkrade, connecting three of her public artworks. From an underground passage filled with stories to a light artwork in the city park at dusk and a poetic text installation on Martin Buber Square, the walk unfolds as a journey through history, landscape, light and human connection.
Along the way, Ramaekers shares the stories behind the artworks and invites participants to discover the city from a different perspective. Rather than a traditional tour, this is a sensory experience that encourages observation, reflection and encounter. As darkness falls, familiar places reveal hidden layers and new meanings.
For anyone curious about art, stories, light, landscape and the hidden dimensions of Kerkrade. A walk of wonder, memory and connection, where darkness opens our eyes to what often remains unnoticed during the day.
